The Lie Behind the Truth -VI

Slowly getting up and again gathering some courage, I burst out in tears as tears were not at all a problem for me by this time. The slaps that struck right in my left cheek, twice made the face looks so reddish. The scene was intense, as the leader was playing with his pistol in fury like he was going to shoot someone.

I started making the noises of pain and slowly dragging my legs at a snail’s pace, I begged the leader, “Please, you are going to get what you want, please don’t punish us, we are not to be blamed for your reasons, we are innocent.”

The innocence lecture maybe touched the leader’s heart, I thought as the immovable body turned to see my face.
“You three have made this kidnapping a lot more interesting, I must admit with your nuisances, entertaining us very much.” The leader replied with a serious laugh.
“You—
“Rock! Rock! Someone’s breaching our barriers, there are people entering our territory.” The tall guy with a long blonde beard reported showing his laptop to the leader.

I never noticed that the leader’s name was Rock, maybe because of all our personal sufferings, as all of them used to call him by that name, how did I not notice that?

“Just stay prepared, this could be anyone, send two people to check how many people are there.”
“Activate all the hidden cameras in the jungle, and take me to the technical room.” Rock added.
“But sir, water?” I asked.
His staring eyes were like an arrow that went pass right through my heart, feeling no pain but fear, so I kept quiet.
“You take them back to the place where others are, and give that son of a bitch, the water he needs; we must keep them alive.” Rock ordered and left the room.

The pale guy, whose name was Shrek there, I found out, the name to make fun of him as he was really pale. He then poured some water in Jim’s mouth and handed us two bottles of water each to distribute it among the hostages; Jim came back to senses after five minutes as we both supported him back to the very old dungeon, the same old cave where the darkness was waiting for us and the light was bidding goodbye.

“Oh! Thank God, you are all alive; you three got us worried as hell.” Mrs. Holtby hugged us bursting into tears.
“We are all fine, ma’am, don’t worry”, I spoke avoiding my face from her rugged sweater as she hugged us really tightly.
“Jim, let him lie down for a while, he is not well.” Diana said.
The two of us helped Jim to lie down.
By the time we were comforting ourselves in the cold dungeon, the pale guy, Shrek had already gone locking the doors and leaving us peacefully.
We handed them the water, “You guys must be thirsty.”
Mrs. Holtby then passed the four bottles to the students, as it was her duty to secure the safety of the students first, maybe she was scared to interact with the kidnapper when Diana had to go out, but she cared for all of us.

The technical room and the operators were trying to ensure the safety of their lives inside the depth of the jungles.
Rock was serious and a little bit nervous, as he was not like the villains of the movies who would sacrifice his men like anything, or lose them on some silly things.
He believed that every man is an asset for the war, not a liability to waste him for anything.

The walkie-talkie nearby notified them about the message, “Rock, more than 20 of the soldiers, prepare prepare, over and-…” The sound of the bullet was heard and the scream of his man gave them a shock and their faces were turning blue.
