In the polluted streets of the city
In the corner there lied a small cafe
There we see Ram with his little hands engaged in the cafe
Work was what he worshipped from the beginning
Entered into this life from a poor background
Money was all they need to stand up on the ground
The little hands of ten could do anything
As to be rich for him was everything
Washing the utensils at one moment
Shouting for people for a veichle in another
He had to support his family after all
If its done with his consent, maybe its not 'Child Labor'
He could see children of his age with a uniform and books
Deep inside he wanted to do what he saw through his naive eyes
He cried, screamed in front of his father
The father couldn't finance, pretended not to bother
He stared at the sky if anything would change
The stubborn childish attitude of wanting a particular thing
He wonder to fly away to a rich land if he had wings
Dreams don't come true in reality, do they?
The feeling or increasing the literacy rate was there
The work was the first priority as always
As a work leave can stop them from having their meal
Following the daily routine again ignoring what you feel
The whole family met finally for a meal in the evening
The father had a good news for him
Admitted his child with the help of government scholarships
Hugged his father with tears of joy
The income would be less if he joined school
'We will manage' was the convincing phrase by father
Decided to study and work for his little support
As work was always his first priority
Fitting himself in his regular outfit
Carrying some books bought with the funds from scholarships
Walked towards the school with a wide smile
'He is going to be educated' after all!!
